Mindful Yoga Chicago hosts ten-week yoga series at Tribe Healing Arts located in Roscoe Village. Our yoga classes are affordable and suitable for long-term practitioners or beginners. If our schedule doesn’t work for you at Tribe Healing Arts, check out other classes located at Sheil Park in Lakeview or Revere Park in the North Center neighborhood.

This series focuses on stress reduction for both the mind and body. From a physical perspective, this class targets the stress on the body from a modern lifestyle behind technology and focuses on stretching the hips, lower back, hamstring, shoulders, and neck with some core strengthening. It also incorporates stress reduction techniques that will vary from class to class but will include breathing and mindfulness techniques. The format of the class will vary a bit from class to class but students should expect intense stretching sometimes holding stretching postures for minutes at a time. Participants will need to be able to place pressure on their hands and knees as well as getting up and down off the floor comfortably. Please contact us if you are registering after June 19. We can get you into the series but will need to do so manually.

The pricing is for the entire class series and not per class. While we will make best efforts to make up classes that are canceled due to inclement weather, instructor sickness or personal emergency. However, please be aware sometimes we are unable to schedule a makeup session due to meeting place requirements.

Please be advised we do not offer any refunds, exchanges, prorating, or transfers for any reason including medical reasons.  To make quality yoga classes available, we are unable to accommodate personal circumstances.

About the Instructor

Melissa Leger Yoga and MBSR InstructorMelissa Leger, E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP®
MBSR Level 1 Instructor

Melissa has been practicing yoga for over 18 years and has been teaching since 2012. Her classes include various modifications for different body types, abilities, ages, and energy levels. She has owned several yoga studios and currently runs yoga teachers and retreats as well as mindfulness and stress reduction classes (MBSR) in Chicago. Her goal is to make yoga accessible through affordable options and teaching students how to modify their yoga postures and practice to their own personal needs. Melissa has completed training programs through Mindful Yoga Academy, Blooma Prenatal, Connection Coalition, Sunlight Chair Yoga, and Yandara Yoga Institute. She is a combat veteran, recovering corporate professional, and entrepreneur. In her spare time, she likes gardening, hanging out with her husband and dogs, and traveling.
